Welcome to the East Riding RGT website. We hope you enjoy reading some of our latest news and finding out what's on in the future. We have had a very successful time since our launch and have homed 56 greyhounds (some past middle age) and all have settled into their new lives very well and some are enjoying better social lives than us! We receive lots of fantastic pictures of the greyhounds in their new homes, at shows and on holiday. We love to see them all having exciting lives with lots of new adventures.
Appeal by Tess

''Hello everyone, my name is Tess - although I used to be called Muscial Band in my racing days. I had 44 races in my career and won 9 of them. Now I take life a little bit easier - although I do still enjoy a good run about and play! I've had a few kennel mates during my time with the East Riding RGT and they have all found lovely new homes and I get left behind. I know I can be bossy with the boys sometimes and I do like to have a bit of a bark at strange dogs I meet - but I'm not a bad dog really, I'm just mischievous sometimes! It's my 6th birthday in September and my birthday wish will be to find a loving home where I can live out my days in safety and enjoy being fussed and pampered. I'm not a high maintenance girl but like anyone alse, I love a bit of 'special me time'. I promise to give my new family all my love for as long as I live and will be the best pet ever!''
Thankyou - Tess xxx
Homing appeal - Denzil

This loving fellow is still waiting for that special someone to give him a permanent home. Still living with a foster family, Denzil is a playful lad, who enjoys a fuss; he also enjoys collecting things, so if it isn't stuck down then it will most probably end up in his bed! Denzil can be a little greedy and loves his food, but he realises he still has some manners to learn in this area and he is willing to try his very best to please. He loves going on holiday, especially in a caravan and generally behaves well in public [unless there's a lof of food around!]. If you think you might be able to offer this boy a safe and loving home please contact us today.

Travelling in style
The East Riding Branch now have new transport for the greyhounds thanks to the generosity of local business. The van was funded by Broomsticks, retailers of Pagan and esoteric products, and the ply-lining and graphics sponsored by Evans Halshaw of Hull. a special thanks to Dave Hastings pictured below. The graphichs are by Matt Vinyl Ltd and we wish to thank them for their discount and for doing such a great job. The new van [now fitted with large travel cages] has proved to be invaluable to the branch - and has also resulted in Emmet getting a new home when his owners saw the van at the Selby Game Fair and came over to talk to volunteers.
Emmett
Greyhounds make fantastic pets; they are loving and laid back and such great characters that you cannot fail to be smitten by them! We welcome any enquiries about our greyhounds and would ask anyone who is thinking about getting a dog as a pet to consider a greyhound first. Contact us via this website today!
Every greyhound that we rehome has been/will be neutered, fully vaccinated and has had a full vet check including dental work. The greyhounds in our care have now also been microchipped. Every greyhound comes with a collar and lead, box muzzle, house collar with engraved disc, full homing information pack, 6 weeks free insurance and a 15 kilo bag of food. We do ask for a donation for the Trust.
Anyone wishing to see us is welcome to come along to any of the events listed on our news page. We have a stall with lots of 'greyhound goodies' to buy and you can meet some of the dogs that have already been homed as well as dogs from the kennels. We have enjoyed a full calendar of events so far in 2008 and everyone is looking forward to getting out and about in the next few months promoting the dogs, having fun and meeting new supporters and (hopefully) new owners too!!
